This award offers an engaging programme for those who are clear that PE and sport is the area of employment they wish to enter. It provides a narrow, but specialist, qualification for students to then progress to a higher education degree, apprenticeship or job within the sports sector.
The BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport is a qualification that is directly equivalent to three full A-Levels and carries a maximum of 420 UCAS points. In the BTEC Extended Diploma in Sport, you will study 19 units over two years covering a range of topics.

This course comprises of 100% coursework completed in practical and theoretical units. Assignments will be based on realistic workplace situations. You will be taught by specialist teachers in classrooms and have access to the sports hall, gym, tennis courts, swimming pool, field and fitness room. Projects are submitted for marking on a regular basis throughout the course.
They are assessed internally by your teachers and then moderated by the Edexcel. Work is graded and written feedback provided, enabling students to gauge how well they are doing on the course. Feedback will help you to see the strengths of your work, as well as allowing you to reflect on areas which can be developed further. Your work will be graded Pass, Merit, Distinction or Distinction*.
